The speaker for this session is Pablo Córdova, founder and CEO of RedOcean; oceanographer at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Master in Civil Engineering at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and PhD student in Civil Engineering Sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

In the session, Pablo will present the topic “Creation of predictive software for maritime emergencies: experiences and projections”. During the presentation, the development of operational support software for maritime emergencies will be presented, addressing both technical aspects – such as hydrodynamic modelling, the generation of automation and optimisation algorithms, and the incorporation of cloud computing infrastructures – and the social and commercial dimensions of the project. The aim is to share the experiences acquired during the technological development process and to open a space for dialogue and reflection on how to improve the institutional, technical and funding systems to effectively address the challenges associated with the use of the maritime environment.
