César Becerra Baeza is a Territorial Analyst at the Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Public Works (Maule Region). He is a geographer from Universidad de Playa Ancha and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental and Territorial Management from Universidad de Talca.

César will present the topic “Analysis of Landslides on Route 115-CH in the Maule Region, Chile.”

The session will feature an initiative led by the Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Public Works (Maule Region) to strengthen road infrastructure in areas with high geographical complexity, such as International Route 115-CH, which connects Chile and Argentina through the Pehuenche Pass. In this Andean context, shaped by natural geodynamic processes like landslides, the study addresses the urgent need to adapt roadways to the challenges of sustainable territorial development. The research not only seeks to identify and mitigate the impacts of these phenomena but also to evaluate and compare various analysis and monitoring methodologies in order to determine the most suitable for the region’s geological and climatic conditions.
