Objectives of the project
1. Data centre
To install, operate and manage a reliable data storage and processing centre with a data storage capacity of up to 15 Petabytes. This facility will allow public and private users in Latin America and the Caribbean to process Copernicus satellite data in a first-class infrastructure close to the imagery storage site, with the consequent increase in efficiency in obtaining results for their projects.
2. In situ data
To coordinate access to in situ data across the region, promoting an open data approach to facilitate common and efficient access, by promoting shared procedures and policies for publication and access to information. This will be done in partnership with countries and regional organisations and a search service for data that facilitates its location and access.
