Tabasco, Mexico

Between October and November 2020, a series of intense rains associated with tropical systems caused flooding in southeastern Mexico. The images show the city of Villahermosa, capital of the state of Tabasco, one of the areas most affected by the event. The dark areas represent water, the extent of which indicates the overflowing of the Grijalva River and the flooding of urban areas. The images were acquired in August and November 2020, respectively, by the Sentinel-2 satellite using NDWI composite imaging.
