This session will present the topic “Fifty Years of Glacial Mass Change on a Global Scale .” The speaker will be Inés Dussaillant, PhD in Glaciology and Satellite Observation from the Laboratory of Geophysical and Space Oceanographic Studies (LEGOS) at the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES). She also holds a Master's degree in Earth Sciences (University of Grenoble Alpes, France), is an agronomist from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and is an expert in remote sensing of nature.

Her research has focused on glacier mass changes, their hydrological impact, and their contribution to sea-level rise through satellite observations. She has worked for the World Glacier Monitoring Service and participated in international projects related to glacier monitoring, climate change, and groundwater.

She has field experience in glaciers in the Andes, the Himalayas, the Pamir Mountains, Scandinavia, and the Alps. In Chile, she seeks to strengthen the observation of Andean glaciers and study their relationship with ecosystems and communities.

She is also a mountaineer, mountain guide, and leadership facilitator for outdoor expeditions . She also participates in science outreach and exploration activities.
